Rain, rain rain

The weather has been unbelievable for the past few days and has made style spotting near impossible. As for my own outfits, as soon as I set foot out the door I am utterly sodden - I had to pour water out of my shoe boots last week. However, the rain does have it's perks - wearing my new Wellington Riding Boots. Found in a charity shop in Cardiff by my wonderful mother, they look like leather boots but are in fact Wellingtons. Genius. Bring on the rain.

So Fresh It's Almost Obnoxious

As promised, I have put together a small feature on Chloe, founder of Esoteric London, an edgy urban accessories and clothing lifestyle brand. Twenty four-year-old Chloe Hope King is an LGBTQ designer, a London College of Fashion (University of the Arts London) graduate and activist living in South-East London.

Chloe's brand is about individuality and recognising that 'one size does not fit all', an ethos which I wholeheartedly applaud. Every beautiful Esoteric London piece is hand-made/ hand finished in the UK using sustainable materials (the majority of which are sourced locally) with a fair working environment ensured for everyone involved. For her current collections, Chloe uses walnut wood and silver and gold leaf to create striking stand out pieces.

"My grandmother is an artist and my mother is an actor and designer. Creativity has been around me my whole life".

All pieces are made in limited edition numbers to ensure the exclusivity of each collection. The next steps for Esoteric London include more pop-up shops around London and live events with some of the freshest and inspirational young talent. Chloe has also hinted at some exciting collaborations with some amazing new brands. I for one am looking forward to what Chloe has in store.

Introductions and Thank You

I wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone who has viewed and followed my blog. Salted Caramel has had views in the UK, US, Spain, Germany, France, Denmark, India, Hong Kong, South Korea and Canada. I'm made up. I love keeping this blog and I'm delighted people are reading and enjoying the posts.

I've realised, nineteen posts in, that I haven't actually introduced myself.
My name is Adele, I'm a graduate living in Cardiff, fluent in Welsh. I blog about what I love, what inspires me and what I want to share.

I am also a budding journalist and have written for:
Grazia Magazine, graziadaily.co.uk, The Wales on Sunday, The Western Mail, The Olive Press (Spain), The Student Prints (USA), Plastik Magazine, Miniature Music Press and others.

I am currently blogging for London based Young & Connected.

Please let me know what you think, ask a question or make a suggestion by leaving a comment or on Twitter @Adele_Georgia

Cheers!

Esoteric

On a night out in Soho while undertaking my Grazia work experience, I was lucky enough to meet Chloe of Esoteric. A former student of the London College of Fashion, Chloe is the designer and director of her own jewellery line. In the coming weeks I'll be looking to post more about Chloe and her progress. For now, check out the Facebook page and blog and if you're in London make sure you're at Brick Lane this weekend with the flyer below.

What I Wore to Bed

While in London I stayed at the most wonderful studio apartment. With antique birdcages, vintage suitcases, curiosities and art, my grotty Gilly Hicks lounge pants simply would not do for nightwear. Cue the most beautiful pyjamas set I have ever owned, found at Topshop Oxford Circus. If a daywear version was sold, I'd snap it up at once and wear it with heels.

Since I am in fact ready for bed, I have decided not to include my face in these pictures (plus I'm still taking them myself with an iPhone). It has been a long day and I'm looking somewhat haggard.

Street Style (1)

When I started this blog I didn't necessarily have Street Style in mind. Although I am a huge fan of street style blogs, initially this wasn't on my agenda. However yesterday, while having coffee in the centre of Cardiff, a woman caught my eye and it would have been a crime not to stop her and take a photo of her outfit. From here on in, if someone catches my eye, I want to feature them on my blog. After all, this is a collection of what I love and what inspires me and Emeeta's outfit was just that. (Emeeta requested that her face was not in the picture)

In the Bag

From the final School of Grazia Masterclass at the Apple Store on Regent's Street, the one piece the panel of beauty vloggers all agreed on one piece which readers and viewers love; what is in your bag. Be it a make-up bag or handbag, readers and viewers love to know what bloggers own.

So here is my very own 'in my bag' post. I certainly have plans for more in the future since what I lug around changes from time to time depending on where I am and what I'm doing. Since arriving back in Cardiff, here are the usual contents of my Jasper Conran bag:

Louis Vuitton purse (my best flea market find!)
Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream
Pink Moleskine notebook
Pink ink Bic pen
Gilly Hicks lipgloss
The latest issue of Grazia magazine
Book of the moment: The Graduate
Native Union USB stick
iPhone (not shown, used to take picture!)

Grazia Readers Reaction

Back in Cardiff for the time being, unpacking my full to burst case and admiring my lovely new finds from London with a glass of red and some Carla Bruni.

In future I hope to have much more written content in my blogs, I have a few ideas of topics for discussion and of course I will be continuing to put outfits together and posting them for y'all to have a look at.

For now here is the second 'Readers React' from graziadaily.com that I wrote during my internship, check out what Grazia's readers thought of the latest issue!

Street Style Looks At Grazia's 'Street Style And Photography' Masterclass

After my first day at the Grazia office, I attended the second 'School of Grazia' event at the Apple Store on Regent's Street featuring Editor-at-Large Angela Buttolph, Deputy Fashion News and Features Editor and Style Hunter, Hannah Almassi, Photographer Phill Taylor and bloggers Peony Lim and Sandra of 5 Inch and Up. A fantastically informative event, I hope Grazia look into doing more masterclasses with their readers (any excuse to come back up to London).

During the evening I was snapped by Grazia Style Hunters which you can see at graziadaily.com:

Native Union

Last week I attended the Rich London Halloween Press Day and met the lovely team behind the PR company who are representing some of the hottest brands at the moment. One of these brands is Native Union, the guys behind the 'POP Phones'. These cute handsets for your computer, Phone or  iPad are already huge in Japan and the US. Orlando Bloom, Daniel Craig, Lenny Kravitz, Eva Longoria and the Kardashians are among the celebrities who have been spotted with a bit of POP.

The guys at Rich London were kind enough to send me my very own POP Phone to the Grazia office and it has instantly become my new favourite accessory (which is why, if you're in my phone book, I will have called you a bazillion times just so I can use it!)

Opulence

Grazia Magazine has been utterly wonderful and I have another very exciting week ahead. It has, however, meant that my new blog has sat on the back burner for a few days. Thankfully with the weekend upon us I have time for a few posts.

This one goes out to All Saints and the abundance of love that I have for them. In an ideal world (or *my* ideal world), I would swan into All Saints and brandish my debit card at everything that took my fancy. Sadly this is not the case but there the Opulence dress in Emerald has caught my eye and I cannot stop thinking about it. A dress worthy of Blair Waldorf, it is the perfect dress for the Autumn/Winter party season. So, Santa Baby...

Halloween

Instead of a costume, I opted for a Halloween themed piece to complete my outfit yesterday. Found at Zara in Covent Garden.

Starting Point

The first post of a blog is always a tough one. You want to engage the reader and say something inspiring but when it comes down to it, you just need to start it off. So here I am, starting Salted Caramel. I am currently an Intern at Grazia Magazine UK and loving life. I have a zillion and one ideas for posts, pictures to take and ensambles to assemble. Here I go.
